Next project in the pipeline.

I’ve been toying with the idea of building or customizing a desk for ‘Work-From-Home’ use. Most standard desks are much deeper than I need. I want something about 20″ to 22″. Anything deeper just wastes floor space. The new ‘computer’ desks all have a ‘cheap’ feel to them, so now it is time for another Old Raven project!!!

I found the used beauty below on Craig list. It is 34″ deep, so all I need to do is remove 12″ between the front and the back, shorten the drawers, refinish and then enjoy. Here goes . . .

Very cool spring mechanism to lock the drawers. There is a lever to lift the bar if the center drawer is locked. I’ll probably remove this component, but thought it was very nicely done. Simple and functional.
